FCC Commissioner Finishes Term with Agency

For the second time in just under a month, the Federal Communications Commission says goodbye to another member. The FCC’s Commissioner, Jessica Rosenworcel (D), completed her first term on Tuesday with the agency, after the Senate did not reconfirm for a second term. In December FCC Chairman, Tom Wheeler (D), announced he will step down once President-Elect, Donald Trump (R) takes office January 20.

There are reports Rosenworcel was in strong opposition of two pending commission rules. Reports also say Massachusetts’ Senator Ed Markey (D) and Oregon’s Senator Ron Wyden (D) both called for a “hold” because they say Rosenworcel is not “consumer friendly enough” to counter Trump and his pro-business positions.
