BOSTON – Nov. 12, 2018 – Gryphon Networks, a leading provider of Sales Intelligence software, supported Massachusetts Veterans and their families by participating in the fourth annual Home Base Veterans Day Special to raise money and awareness on Sunday, November 11, 2018. Gryphon’s employees took their compassion for Veterans and turned it into action by choosing Home Base as the focused charitable organization for Gryphon’s corporate citizenship program. Home Base services are specifically designed to overcome common barriers to care for returning Veterans.
This Home Base event over Veteran’s Day Weekend was videotaped for next year’s telethon and will be televised in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Florida (WCVB-TV Channel 5 in MA, WMUR-TV Channel 9 in NH, and ABC Channel 7 in FL). The hour-long broadcast highlighted the multifaceted aspects of Home Base to raise funds to support service members suffering from Invisible Wounds — traumatic brain injury (TBI), post-traumatic stress (PTS), and related conditions, and to provide financial assistance to their families. The televised event featured patients bravely sharing their stories in the hope to reduce the stigma surrounding the mental illnesses caused by these wounds and to educate the community about the invisible wounds of war.
Lisa Centrella, Gryphon’s Enterprise Risk, and Compliance Manager and Corporate Citizenship Program organizer, said, “I knew I would be touched by this event going in, but like many of us, I was surprised by the unexpected emotion it brought to me. I was thrilled and proud to be a part of this event and look forward to our next one with Home Base. As I drove home last night, I felt so proud to be a part of Gryphon and sitting next to these nine others who wanted to help!”
Since its founding in 2009, Home Base, a partnership of the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital, has been breaking new ground, leading regional and national efforts with a multi-disciplinary team of experts working together to help Service Members, Veterans, and their families heal from Invisible Wounds. Home Base is the only private sector clinic in New England, and is the largest private sector clinic in America, with the sole focus of helping at-risk Veterans and their military families regain the lives they once had. Gryphon looks forward to participating in upcoming Home Base events in the near future.
